The studio sits at Winston Churchill and Dundas, which is to say it sits on the line. Winston Churchill Boulevard is the Oakville and Mississauga boundary, so from the window I am looking into Mississauga. For a Mississauga business that means the nearest properly equipped portrait studio is not downtown, and it is not a forty minute crawl up the 403. It is fourteen minutes from Square One and twenty from the Airport Corporate Centre.

That proximity is the whole argument. A headshot session is not worth an expedition, and the moment it becomes one, it gets postponed. The firms that keep their team pages current are the ones for whom photography is a short trip rather than a project.

Getting here from Mississauga

The studio is at 2030 Bristol Circle, Suite 210, immediately on the Oakville side of Winston Churchill. Reserved parking on site, no meters and no garage to hunt for, which matters more than it sounds when you are moving eight people through a session in one afternoon.

If coming to the studio does not suit the day, I bring the kit to you. On location sessions run at Mississauga offices, boardrooms and event venues at no extra charge for travel, which is worth knowing because several studios in this market add a separate on site fee.

Photographing Mississauga

The most visible portrait I have made in this city is of Bonnie Crombie, who ran Mississauga for a decade. Photographing a mayor is a particular kind of brief: the image has to work on a billboard, on a phone, in a newspaper and on a lectern card, and it has to look like the person rather than like a photograph of a person.

That work sits alongside the ordinary and more common brief: the accounting firm in the Airport Corporate Centre whose partners were photographed in three different years by three different people, the advisory practice near Square One that hired four people last quarter, the realtor in Streetsville whose face is on every sign in the neighbourhood.

How a session runs

Every booking starts with a short consultation, free, before anything is confirmed. We settle the look, the wardrobe, and what the images actually have to do, whether that is a firm directory, a LinkedIn profile, a press kit or a campaign.

On the day you see every frame on a large screen as we shoot. If something is not working we fix it in the room, reshoot it, or you walk away owing nothing. Nobody leaves hoping the photographs turned out.

Your gallery arrives the next business day, already narrowed to my picks and grouped by look. Retouched files arrive within five business days of your selections, with rush available when an announcement has a date on it.

What it costs

Individual sessions start at $300 + HST. For teams, the rate drops with headcount:

One retouched file included for each person, additional files $100 + HST each. Larger groups can book a full shooting day at $2,500 + HST instead, an eight hour window with no limit on headcount, where retouching is ordered separately by the company or by each person individually.
